Trail To The Light

Impasto relief painting of a trail in the Hoh Rainforest. It had been cloudy and rainy as we were hiking out but the rain had stopped on our return. Then rounding a bend in the trail a single shaft of sunlight broke through the clouds spotlighting a single fall golden tree. The moss hanging from trees, the mist, the ferns the dark forest made me think of magical fairy tales.
